A pair of hand thrown goblets created out of porcelain white clay. The overall design is to portray a sense of “abundance” through its continuous curvaceous form. Most mugs have straight lines or angled corners for manufacturing ease. I want the opposite. The curved form allows the eye to wander around the cup which gives it a sense of a warmth and softness that invites you to touch it and hold it in your hand.
The two glazes overlapped here offer a blue snow pack like feeling on a mountain top.
Both goblets are 5.5 inches tall.
The pair of goblets come with an original sumi calligraphy gift box depicting the scenes from the nearby Soos Creek where my studio resides.
