The lidded jar is created out of porcelain white clay. The overall design is to portray a sense of “abundance” through its continuous curvaceous form. The curved form allows the eye to wander around the cup which gives it a sense of a warmth and softness that invites you to touch it and hold it in your hand.
It is 6 inches tall with a 5 inch diameter. The two glazes overlapped here offer soothing balance of a white sandy beach and the blue ocean.
The jar comes with an original sumi calligraphy box depicting the scenes from the nearby Soos Creek where my studio resides.
