The overall design is to portray a sense of “abundance” through its continuous curvaceous form. The curved form allows the eye to wander around the cup which gives it a sense of a warmth and softness that invites you to touch it and hold it in your hand. They are light weight and perfect for rich dishes or stew meals.
The two glazes overlapped here offer soothing balance of a white sandy beach and the blue ocean.
The pair of plates come with an original sumi calligraphy box depicting the scenes from the nearby Soos Creek where my studio residese.
